Minlaton is a small rural town about 2 hrs drive from Adelaide on good roads.
It has a great surgery and small ED all attached to a very modern residential aged care facility.
The practice has a paperless IT medical records system and is supported by experienced clerical and nursing staff.
It was set up for the university to run as a teaching site and thus is a 'not for profit'organisation. This allows the Drs to receive a higher proportion of fees than in other practices. As a rural location it also attracts the generous Rural Drs relocation grant for overseas drs.
There is easy access to beaches,fishing,scuba, wonderful bushwalking and camping. Excellent community sporting activities.
The local patient profile are families working in Minlaton or on the land.
There is an ability to admit patients in an adjacent town where there is a GP managed hospital.
An academic teaching appointment is possible, which allows rapid access to Permanent Residence.
