Conditions of Employment - Summary

For Staff Specialist Level One
Position title: Staff Specialist - Physician
Award: Salaried Senior Medical Practitioners (State) Award
Salary: Commencing Level 1 - yr to yr 5
$87,343.00 to $107,784.00
Annual Leave: Four calendar weeks per annum
Training, Education and Study Leave Twenty-five calendar days per annum plus allowances according to Award
Sick Leave: Two calendar weeks per annum
Other Leave entitlements: As per your Award and Department of Health Policy
20% Allowance (in lieu of private practice) $20,508.00 to 25,308.00
17.4% Allowance (for on-call, callbacks and out of hours work) $15,198.00 to 18,754.00
Outside Practice: You are required to seek the Chief Executive Officer's agreement in writing to engage in practice outside your normal duties
Superannuation Will be paid as the current rate (9%) of cash salary
Worker Compensation Workers Compensation Insurance will be provided
Medical Indemnity Provided for the staff specialist level one only

NB: A motor vehicle
fully maintained is available as per circular 98/107.Usage during annual leave fuel costs incurred by the employee.

 

 

 


 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

As an employee of Macquarie Area Health Service you are expected to :

  1. Comply with the provisions of the Health Services Act 1997 and regulations made thereunder and the Policies, By-Laws and Rules of the Macquarie Area Health Service
  2. Comply with the Area's Code of Conduct (copy attached)
  3. Adopt safe work practices as recommended by the management and raise any occupational health and safety issues of concern with relevant staff.
  4. Participate in appropriate quality activities and contribute to the development and review of the Quality Plan.
  5. Participate in an on-call roster as required by Dubbo Base Hospital and when called to the hospital, you will be expected to promptly attend within a reasonable time, consistent with the patient's condition and safety.
  6. Ensure that adequate clinical records are maintained for all patients under your care and following discharge of a patient ensure that the clinical records are completed within seven days.


CONFIDENTIALITY & CODE OF CONDUCT AND ETHICS

  • Maintain confidentiality by ensuring no information concerning patients or clients is divulged or discussed with persons outside the Medical Service or within the Medical Service if the person is not involved in the treatment of the patient (except in recognised clinical meetings.)
  • Be familiar with the contents of the MAHS & New South Wales Health System Code of Conduct and Ethics and observe their provisions
